Meeting Raimonds Staprans

Last year spring I discovered Raimonds Staprans, painter living in California, art and then accidentally saw his original work – self portrait at local gallery in Riga and then another work at auction (Desert, 1974) and that was it – admiration for fine lines 🙂 And today I got to meet him, talk and shake hand – he still paints every day, makes jokes of fellow artists and says that each Latvian favorite color is grey 🙂
